Frequently Asked Questions
General
To enjoy any of the amenities here at Mak Pack, we do require proof of the following vaccines prior to or at drop off:
- Rabies (1 or 3 year)
- DHPP/DAPP (1 or 3 year)
- Bordetella (1 year: every 6 months recommended).
- We also require that your dog has an account set up with us and that all waivers are signed prior to drop off.
We do not discriminate against certain dog breeds. We do however reserve the right to ask any dog and owner to leave if their dog is showing signs of aggression.
Your dog does not need to be neutered. However, if you have a female that is in heat or showing any signs, they will not be allowed into the park or into daycare or boarding until we receive a note from their vet stating that it's clear for them to return.
We are often away from the desk and in the back with our canine or feline guests. When we are sitting at the desk, we are often interacting with a customer or have our hands full with blankets, food, and other supplies. Please email info@makpackaz.com for the fastest response time, OR leave a voicemail and we will return your call as soon as we can.
Training
Give us a call at 602-374-3388 to be added to the waitlist for training class. Prior to calling, please make an account and add your pup. That way, if we have any openings, we might be able to squeeze you in early. Otherwise, we will call you once our new set of classes open. Again, in order to get into a class, you will need to make an account prior!
Treats! If you need to show proof of vaccinations then it is important you bring those, but otherwise all we need is you, your dog, and some yummy treats!
At least 4 months old. We just require that they are up to date on their vaccinations.
Classes are 1 hour long once a week.
We teach a puppy/ beginner course which is great for teaching basic commands and getting your dog socialized.
The next course is an intermediate course- this class offers more in depth commands and teaches the dog better distraction control and distance work.
Our advanced course is perfect for any dogs interested in becoming therapy or service dog testing.
Daycare and Boarding
We would love to introduce new pups into our pack. However, we think it is important for your pet to get the chance to be slowly introduced to reduce the risk of getting overwhelmed. We will bring your dog into a room by themselves, and slowly introduce a dog. Then after we give the green light, we will add another dog to the mix. Eventually we move your pup to the back of the warehouse to be greeted by more dogs until they are comfortable enough to join the pack!
Just your dog and their food! If your dog requires a slow feeder bowl, please also include that but make sure that their name is written on it so it doesn’t get misplaced. We ask that you do not bring beds or toys as we do not want your pup to be tempted to eat it or urinate on it. We do not put beds or toys in their kennels as it poses a health risk if they chew on them alone.
We love when pet owner’s pre-bag their dog’s food by meal or by day! This allows us to know we are giving your dog the exact amount you intended for them.
Nope! Just your pup and if you want them to have lunch, you can bring in a labeled baggie with their name on it. We feed lunch between 12 and 1.
Although we do not require your dog to be prescheduled for daycare, we do highly recommend it. To ensure that each dog is getting exceptional care we only take in a certain amount of dogs every day. If you have scheduled your dog to be here we will absolutely welcome them in to play (as long as they have passed our temperament test), however if we reach capacity we may not be able to accommodate your dog that day. For boarding, reservations are required. If you'd like to reserve your dogs to board with us feel free to request those days on our ap or give us a call at (602) 374-3388.
Dog Park
In order to uphold our high standards and keep the pets in our facility safe we do require any dog using our amenities to have a Mak Pack account. This does not mean you need to buy a membership plan though, we also offer drop in day passes for $10 single entry, or $49/month.
Yes! Small dogs are welcome in the general pet area, however we also offer a small dog (under 20lb) area if it would make them more comfortable.
You are welcome to leave and come back with your dog during the same day. We simply ask that you let an attendant know if you need to step out of the park to use the restroom or enjoy the Barket, and they can watch them for up 10 minutes. However, you cannot leave your dog in the park if you leave the building. Dogs left in the dog park without alerting an attendant will be moved into daycare and charged accordingly.
No we do not allow food or any drinks other than water in the dog park. You're welcome to enjoy any food or drinks at one of the café tables just outside of the park entrance though!
